The AI space continues to move at a blistering pace - or at least that’s the way it feels when monitoring new features and capabilities. I hear myself saying the same thing nearly every day: “these are wild times we’re living in.” With that in mind, here’s what changed, why it matters, and what you should consider doing.

What changed this week
Canva can now build full websites from a simple text prompt.
Canva introduced a feature letting anyone type a description of a website or app and instantly generate a working version. It is available to all users, even on free plans, and lets you edit the result just like a normal Canva design.

1Password gave Claude a secure way to log into your tools.
1Password launched an integration that allows Anthropic's Claude to access your stored credentials to complete tasks. It uses biometric approval and locks down your vault so the AI can only use specific logins without ever actually seeing or remembering your passwords. Why it matters: This removes a huge bottleneck in automating administrative work, meaning you can safely let AI handle tasks across different software platforms without handing over the keys to your business.
Google upgraded its document analyzer into a heavy-duty data tool.
Google renamed its popular NotebookLM tool to Gemini Notebook and gave it the ability to write and run code against your uploaded files. It can now crunch numbers and analyze deep datasets privately within your own Google workspace. Why it matters: If you have spreadsheets full of sales data, customer feedback, or inventory logs, you now have a free data analyst that can spot trends and summarize performance securely.
Why it matters
AI companies are finally building tools for shops your size, not just for Fortune 500s. I am seeing a move past the experimental chatbot phase into a reality where AI integrates safely into your passwords, your design templates, and your private spreadsheets. That changes who can compete.
Handing an AI your login credentials used to be a massive security risk, which kept small businesses from automating repetitive work. Now that password managers are creating secure bridges for these tools, you can automate data entry without compromising your business.
When a design app like Canva can generate a working website, you no longer need a bloated marketing budget to test new ideas. This levels the playing field, letting a two-person team launch campaigns as quickly as an agency.
Most small businesses have years of customer insights buried in unread spreadsheets and fragmented documents. With upgraded private analysis tools, you can finally turn that unstructured mess into clear, actionable business strategies.
You can use this week
Clean up your ChatGPT instructions.10 min
OpenAI's new official guide reveals that repeating rules actually confuses the AI. Review your saved prompts and delete any overlapping instructions to instantly get better, faster results.
Try the "thin prompt, meaty context" technique.5 min
Instead of writing a long, complicated instruction, give Claude a very simple command but attach a massive document or example file for it to reference.
Outline a 30-day launch plan.15 min
Ask ChatGPT or Claude to draft a step-by-step launch schedule for a new service you've been putting off, then paste the output into a shared document to get your team moving.
This week's tip
Bake your business into a Custom GPT
Custom GPTs (on the $20/month Plus plan) let you set up a chat that always knows your business name, your tone of voice, and your typical customer. 15 minutes to configure once. Skips 5 minutes of context-setting every conversation after that.

OpenAI's Official Prompting Guide
I've read dozens of "expert" prompting guides, but OpenAI finally published their own rulebook for getting the most out of ChatGPT. It turns out that a lot of the advice circulating online actually hurts performance. I highly recommend spending ten minutes reading the people who built the model explain how to actually talk to it.
Open it →One thing to think about
Think about the most tedious administrative task you pay someone to do every single week. If an AI could now securely log into your software and do it flawlessly for pennies, how would you redeploy that person's talent to actually grow your business?
